Enables the previous "classic" editor and the old-style Edit Post screen with TinyMCE, Meta Boxes, etc. Supports all plugins that extend this screen.
== Description ==
Classic Editor is an official plugin maintained by the WordPress team that restores the previous ("classic") WordPress editor and the "Edit Post" screen. It makes it possible to use plugins that extend that screen, add old-style meta boxes, or otherwise depend on the previous editor.
Classic Editor is an official WordPress plugin, and will be fully supported and maintained until 2024, or as long as is necessary.
At a glance, this plugin adds the following:
* Administrators can select the default editor for all users.
* Administrators can allow users to change their default editor.
* When allowed, the users can choose which editor to use for each post.
* Each post opens in the last editor used regardless of who edited it last. This is important for maintaining a consistent experience when editing content.
In addition, the Classic Editor plugin includes several filters that let other plugins control the settings, and the editor choice per post and per post type.
By default, this plugin hides all functionality available in the new block editor ("Gutenberg").

3232Why A Master Bathroom Is Just What You Need
https://www.jnoconstruction.com/why-a-master-bathroom-is-just-what-you-need/
https://www.jnoconstruction.com/why-a-master-bathroom-is-just-what-you-need/#commentsMon, 03 Sep 2018 21:41:36 +0000http://24constructionanddesign.com/?p=6888How many people are sharing your bathroom? If you have two adults and several kids using the same space to get ready for the day each morning, chances are things can get pretty harried. If you are considering a Los Angeles bathroom remodel, why not think of adding a master bathroom to your space as well? Doing so offers benefits for the entire family.
You’ll Have More Space
If your home’s main bathroom isn’t very large, it may feel overcrowded. Between towels and washcloths, makeup and hair products, and everything else that people tend to store in their bathrooms, it can be hard to find a way to store so much. With a master bathroom, you’ll have more space for the things that only you (and your partner, if you have one) use. That means fewer bath toys where the pain reliever is supposed to be and more space to spread out your things for easy access.
You’ll Have More Privacy
Have you ever tried to take a relaxing bath after work, only to be interrupted by someone who needed to use the restroom or do hair and makeup for an evening out? Private baths are hard to come by when the family home only has one bathroom. A master bathroom gives you the space you need to unwind after a long day, and since you won’t be tying up the family bathroom, you’re less likely to be interrupted while you relax.
You’ll Save Time
What time are you currently waking up each morning to ensure everyone has the time to get ready in the morning? Imagine how much more sleep you’d get if you had a master bath. When the kids are getting ready in one bathroom and the parents are getting ready in another, you can get twice as much done in the same amount of time, making it acceptable to hit that snooze button at least a couple more times.
Create the Best Space for You

Your patio can be the perfect spot in which to can relax, entertain, unwind and spend time with the people you care about most. With some carefully chosen elements, you can turn this part of your property into your cherished oasis.
What Should Affect Your Patio’s Design?
When trusting a contractor to craft your exterior spaces, the resulting designs should ultimately be driven by functionality, aesthetics and the desired moods you wish to invoke. For example, a patio built primarily for entertaining friends and family will look much different than one designed to be a secluded retreat near the back of your property. As you envision your future patio, it’s wise to think about three key factors:
Your primary purposes for this space
Accessibility from other areas of your property
How you want it integrated your home or landscaping design
These should give you a good starting point as you consult with a construction firm, since its professionals will need this critical information to design and build a space that suits your needs.

https://www.jnoconstruction.com/with-so-many-tile-choices-where-do-i-start/
https://www.jnoconstruction.com/with-so-many-tile-choices-where-do-i-start/#respondWed, 27 Jun 2018 17:45:15 +0000http://24constructionanddesign.com/?p=6739
In the beginning phases of planning a kitchen or bath remodel, choosing your tile may seem overwhelming. You’re cruising the home sites bookmarking beautiful tiles of all shapes, colors, sizes and materials, but how do you narrow it down and start making some decisions?
Approach tile as you would any other aspect of a home remodel or interior design — focus on functionality and design.
Functionally, tile is a very practical material overall. It’s extremely durable, affordable, and is a natural, sustainable material. Maintenance-wise, glazed ceramic or stone tile is stain-resistant and easy to keep clean with a sponge or damp mop, while unglazed porcelain tile is porous and more prone to stains, so requires more care.
That said, different types of tile are better suited to different areas. While glass tile makes a beautiful, light-reflective backsplash, it’s slippery when wet, so isn’t a choice for floors. Slip-resistance is an important consideration when choosing flooring tiles, and it’s what makes textured stone or ceramic tiles ideal for shower, bath or kitchen floors.
The size of the tile also affects traction. How? Think of a 1″ x 1″ square tile. You need a lot of them to cover a room, and lots of tiny tiles means lots of grout keeping them in place. Grout, with its sandy texture, is very slip-resistant, which is why it’s so common to see small-scale tiles on shower floors.
Which brings us to scale and design. Playing with scale is a great way to create visual interest and define spaces in a room. Think of a repeating pattern like the classic subway tile as wainscoting around a room, accented by different size tile on floors, inside shower enclosures, on vanity tops, or on backsplashes. The more sizes you use, though, be sure to limit your color palette or even go monochromatic to keep things from looking like a dizzying patchwork.
Another thing to keep in mind when playing with scale is that larger tile looks better in larger, unbroken areas. If an area is curved or includes a lot of fixtures that need to be cut around, that’s going to mean a lot of large pieces cut into awkward shapes.
Overall, when considering the look you’re going for in your kitchen or bathroom, do you want the tile to be the focus, or the accent?
Do you want it to “disappear” behind a showpiece designer bath tub or around stunning custom cabinetry, or to be the star of the show?
Consider what sizes, colors and textures will enhance (and not fight for attention with) your particular space and the other elements in the room.
Whatever you decide, or if you need our design expertise to help you decide, JNO Construction & Design has access to every line of designer tiles you may have bookmarked, and we’d be happy to meet with you to discuss turning those bookmarks into the bathroom of your dreams!

https://www.jnoconstruction.com/commercial-remodels-branding-your-office/
https://www.jnoconstruction.com/commercial-remodels-branding-your-office/#respondFri, 25 May 2018 17:44:50 +0000http://24constructionanddesign.com/?p=6435
You’re preparing to move your company into a new office space, or you’re about to undertake a commercial remodel of your existing space. Have you given enough thought to how the final product will reflect on your brand?
If you haven’t, or if you’re not sure why it’s important, read on!
Your space should reflect what your company stands for, from the front door to the break room and everywhere in between. Visitors and employees should literally experience your brand when they are there. In the current environment where corporate branding can make or break a business, the work environment needs to be part of a comprehensive, cohesive messaging package that reflects your core values and mission.
Through thoughtful consideration of the layout, the flow of the space, the lighting, color palette, furnishings, types of art, signage, and wall and floor coverings, it’s possible to embody your corporate philosophy and make clear the principles that guide your actions.
Through thoughtful consideration of the layout, the flow of the space, the lighting, color palette, furnishings, types of art, signage, and wall and floor coverings, it’s possible to embody your corporate philosophy and make clear the principles that guide your actions.
A business with an established reputation providing financial production needs to feel different than a production company that makes children’s entertainment. Does your company push the boundaries of new technology, or work towards social justice, or lead the industry in haircare products? Those offices should all feel uniquely tied to those brands and missions.
Okay, but for who?
Clients: Anyone you’re doing business with needs to see, feel and understand who you are. It’s likely they’ve already interfaced with your brand in some way, but being in your space — experiencing your brand — should leave no doubt about your company and its values.
Employees: Work place environment accounts for up to 25% of job satisfaction, and it can have a measurable effect on performance. Not only should the work place be functional, comfortable and convenient, it should engage and inspire a sense of purpose and pride. You’re also reinforcing your company values when you optimize your space to support themes like collaboration, creativity, innovation, or wellness. It shows commitment to company values, but also commitment to your employees as a respected keeper of the flame.
Prospective Employees: It’s a competitive job market, everyone wants to attract the best talent, and the work environment is a major deciding factor for candidates. And with the costs incurred by acquiring new talent, you want to make the hiring process as efficient as possible. When your values and work culture are clearly “experienced” in your office, you and a potential team member are more likely to understand each other and whether you’re a good match.
Designing a corporate space is a powerful way to communicate your company’s brand, and in today’s market, it’s an absolute necessity.
We hope that the next step in your planning process involves scheduling a consultation with the JNO Construction & Design team.

https://www.jnoconstruction.com/is-a-smaller-or-larger-house-right-for-you/
https://www.jnoconstruction.com/is-a-smaller-or-larger-house-right-for-you/#respondWed, 31 Jan 2018 17:14:47 +0000http://24constructionanddesign.com/?p=3563One of the first questions that should be asked when it comes to finding a person’s dream home is related to the size of the house. After all, you’ll be living in it for a good chunk of your life so it should be a place where you feel completely comfortable. While common opinion may state that bigger is always better, the truth is that both types of homes – smaller and larger – offer great benefits that make them very palatable. As your experts in Los Angeles kitchen remodel and bathroom remodel services, we at JNO Construction & Design would like to go over the benefits of both house sizes.
The Benefits of a Smaller House
Some of the benefits of purchasing a smaller house are as follows:
Smaller houses will be cheaper to buy, thus, allowing you to save more money on them. Additionally, you’ll have more money left over to start an emergency fund for you and your family.
Having a smaller home will typically mean that you’ll have to pay less in utility costs and taxes as well.
A smaller house will also mean that you’ll have to spend less time maintaining your home. This will give you extra free time to spend in other, more preferable ways.
A smaller house has more growth potential as upgrading your home in the future can cause the house’s value to increase much more.
The Benefits of a Larger House
On the other hand, you may consider purchasing a larger house if these benefits intrigue you:
You’ll have more space in your home for your furnishings and other desirables. If you’re interested in having an entertainment room or a workout area, you’ll have the ability to add them. Not to mention, larger houses often have larger yards too, giving you more outdoor space for activities as well.
You won’t feel cramped in your home and it can be perfect if you have a few kids.
If you’re the business-minded type, a larger house can even give you the opportunity to run a home-based business
It may sound vain, but one of the top reasons why people want to have larger houses is because these homes can make them look and feel more important.
Which Is Right for You?
Honestly, there’s no general answer for this question. Each person will have his or her own preference as to what qualities make either a smaller or a larger house the perfect choice. We recommend that you weigh the pros of each type of house against each other to help decide which one is right for you.

We’re not only highly-skilled at remodeling and constructing wonderful homes, but we also keep an eye on all of the latest trends to make sure that you’ll be living in the most modern home possible and that the value of your home will stay high for years to come. We’d like to give you some of our recommendations for the best new features that go perfectly in a modern home.
Our Modern Home Feature Recommendations
Here’s just a handful of some of the most sought-after features found in modern homes:
Smart Technology – With smart technology, you’ll be able to control your home with just your phone. Smart technology can be used so that you can lock your doors, manage your thermostat, and turn off your appliances even when you’re many miles away from home.
Energy Efficiency – Nowadays, most new homes are trending toward the energy-efficient direction. New homes are much more energy efficient than those made even just several years ago. This can be very beneficial as energy-efficient appliances and fixtures will save you money in the long run.
Outdoor Living Spaces – While it’s not technically a new feature (or new at all), outdoor living spaces have exploded in popularity recently. Whether it’s a large patio, an outdoor fireplace, or an outdoor hot tub, many people just love spending time outdoors and would jump at the opportunity to do so while in their own living area.
Spacious Walk-In Closets – Another feature that’s risen in popularity is the walk-in closet. It’s considered to be incredibly desirable and not just because it’s efficient at storing all of a couple’s clothes and belongings – it’s actually also become something of a status symbol that people enjoy showing off!
Entertainment Rooms – If you’re going to have guests over to entertain, what better way than with your very own entertainment room? Entertainment rooms can greatly vary based on the size of the home and the amount of money you have to work with, but it can be used as anything from a game room to a bar to a movie theater to even a basketball court!
A Modern Kitchen – Perhaps the most important room of the house is the kitchen, making it no surprise as to why modern homes focus so much on it. A modern kitchen should have more than enough room for families to eat in and hang out at. Many of the most attractive modern kitchens will have features such as stainless-steel appliances, a kitchen island, and granite countertops.

Home construction is absolutely no different in this regard. Just as a house from the 90s is much different from a house built in the 40s, modern homes have many differences from homes that were built merely a decade ago. As your source for Los Angeles bathroom remodel and kitchen remodel services, we at JNO Construction & Design would like to go over some of the top trends that are currently being utilized in modern residential construction. Maybe it’ll even give you an idea for your own home!
Utilizing the Outdoors
It’s no longer the days of old where there’s a clear distinction between the indoor area and the outdoor area. More and more homes nowadays are utilizing the outdoor space for living areas and also actually integrating rooms that are a combination of indoor and outdoor. This can provide a comfortable and relaxing living area along with the benefits of the outdoors, including the sunlight and an improved airflow. As backyards can be expensive, doing this can cost more money, but it’ll also lead to a greater enjoyment of one’s own home.
A Reliance on Modern Technology
Modern technology is capable of making a home more efficient than ever. Digital tools and devices allow a person to be able to operate many different functions in the house through the usage of a smartphone or even just simple voice commands. This can include controlling the home’s temperature, the lights, or an entertainment system. Additionally, by going green with your house with additions such as solar panels and geothermal pumps, you’ll be able to not only help out the environment, but save some money in the long run.
New Living Rooms
While older homes would utilize traditional living rooms, these rooms sometimes don’t exist in modern homes – at least not in their previous forms. Living rooms may still be used nowadays, only they often have a modern twist on them. Instead of a traditional living room with a couch, chairs, and a large television, a homeowner may instead choose to have a bar as the living area. You’ll see plenty of other interesting uses for living rooms as well, including parlors, libraries, theaters, and outdoor patios.

https://www.jnoconstruction.com/how-long-does-a-home-last/#respondWed, 31 Jan 2018 01:19:03 +0000http://24constructionanddesign.com/?p=3569When it comes to a great home, one vital aspect about it is its longevity. Obviously, a person will want his or her home to stay in great condition as long as possible, meaning that a premium should be placed on longevity. However, you might be wondering how long a home should actually last. It’s a tricky question to answer, but as your providers of Los Angeles kitchen remodel and bathroom remodel services, we at JNO Construction & Design would like to do our best to answer this complex question.
A Home’s Lifespan
While questions about a home’s lifespan are something that we hear asked quite often, there’s really no definite answer to it. Homes are all different and their lifespans will greatly vary from one home to the next. The average age of a home in the United States is about 20-to-60 years, with those in the Midwest and the Northeast being on the higher end of that spectrum. That doesn’t mean that homes can’t be much older than that though. In fact, the White House was finished in the year 1800 and it’s still a fully-functional and beautiful building well over 200 years later! With the right care and maintenance, a home can actually last for hundreds of years.
What you need to look into when determining whether a home will last for many more years is actually the components that the house is made up of. Each part will have its own lifespan that can offer a better look as to how long the house will last. Some common housing components along with a conservative estimate of their lifespans are as follows:
Carpet: Ten years
Faucets: 12 years
Asphalt: 12 years
Gas range: 15 years
Air conditioner: 15 years
Plumbing pipe: 80 years
Bricks: 100 years
For a house to remain in great condition, these items (along with all others that a house is comprised of) will need to be replaced about that often. These estimates aren’t always a certainty, however, they can be used as an excellent guideline. If, for example, you’re purchasing a home with a gas range that’s 13 years old, even if it’s a fantastic gas range that operates perfectly, you should assume that you’ll still need to replace it in a few years. With constant maintenance, repairs, and updates of your home’s appliances and components, you can help ensure that your home will even outlive you!

When you’re looking for Los Angeles kitchen remodel or bathroom remodel services, we at JNO Construction & Design are here to help in order to help turn your regular home into your dream home. Although we take great pride in our building and remodeling services, we simply want to help you in whatever way we can – even if you decide that you’d rather just purchase a new home instead. If you happen to be a first-time home buyer, we’ve provided you with a checklist of important things to take into consideration before purchasing your new home.
Our Quick Checklist for Home Buyers
Know What You’re Able to Qualify For – The first thing you’ll need to determine when buying a home is how much of a house you’ll be able to afford. To help determine this, one of the main factors that you should look at is your debt-to-income ratio. This compares your current income to your current debt; when you have a more favorable debt-to-income ratio, you’ll be able to afford a better house.
Keep a Good Credit Record – Another one of the most important ways to qualify for a great home is by making sure that you have good credit. Having a good credit record will strongly depend upon you making your payments on time and having little (or even no) debt. If you don’t have a solid credit record, you might not be able to get the mortgage that you want. Even if you do qualify, you may have to pay a higher interest rate.
Decide How to Pay for the House – First, you should decide how long you’ll want the mortgage to be. Mortgages typically last from 15 to 30 years. A longer mortgage will allow you to pay it off at a much smaller monthly rate. However, if you’re able to choose a shorter mortgage, you’ll end up paying much less in added interest in the long run. You should also consider what type of mortgage you’ll go with – an adjustable-rate mortgage or a fixed-rate mortgage.
Make Sure You Have the Monthly Payments Available – Obviously, you’ll want to have the available monthly money to pay for the mortgage. You should go over your budget beforehand and determine what you spend on a monthly basis. This can include car payments, car insurance, medical care, entertainment, and so on. You’ll want to be sure that you’ll have the available money to take care of each monthly payment.
Remember to Have Some Money Left Over Too – You won’t just have to consider the mortgage when it comes to paying for your home. You’ll have to take care of several other expenses and potential expenses as well. You’ll need to pay property taxes and homeowner’s insurance, which should be factored in. Also, you should always make sure that you’ll have some additional money available because there’s a good chance that you’ll need to pay for needed repairs or maintenance to keep your home in excellent condition.

While there are all sorts of ways that a home can gradually deteriorate over time, there’s one common area that many people often forget about – their roof. We’d like to take this time to tell you about the importance of periodically checking your roof.
Why You Should Check Your Roof
Much like everything else, your roofing material is susceptible to wear and tear. The reason why this needs to be paid attention to though is because your roof is essentially your first line of defense against the elements. Not only that, but when you neglect taking care of your roof, there’s a good chance that you’ll end up costing yourself money in the long run. By checking your roof periodically, you’ll be able to catch minor issues early on before they can turn into something more problematic, such as damaged roof boards, studs, or even interior ceilings and walls.
How Often Should You Inspect Your Roof?
Most will recommend that you check your roof either annually or bi-annually, depending on the outdoor factors. If there aren’t any extreme weather events, such as wind or winter storms, checking it annually can be sufficient. The best time to take a look at your roof is sometime during autumn, before a cold and long winter has the chance to set in.
What You Should Look For
When you check your roof, you don’t necessarily need to use a ladder and walk around on your roof. In fact, staying off of your roof is actually helpful to the long-term health of your roof. Simply using a pair of binoculars to examine your roof can be just as sufficient for your roofing check. Whichever method you choose, we recommend checking for these problematic signs:
Broken or missing shingles
Shingles that are starting to buckle, curl, or blister
Cracked caulk or any rust spots on flashing
Worn or cracked rubber boots around the vent pipes
Areas with moss or lichen
Piles of colored grit from the roof in the gutters
